The first match in the Brewin Dolphin Senior Summer Mixed saw RBSI play Carey Olsen.  It was an exciting opening to the competition with RBSI running out 5-0 winners.  Both sides had chances to score in the first half but it was in the second half that RBSI ran away with the game with goals from Chrissie Helmholt-Kneisel, Michael Woodrow, Natacha Kay, Arnou Helmholt-Kneisel and Janoun Dunleavy.

In the second game The Mad Hatters took on newcomers Ogier.  Ogier went two up but The Mad Hatters were equal to the task with their goals coming from Massimo Furness, Adrian Heelis and Gordon Hunt.  It was a tight game which could have gone either way boding well for a competitive summer of hockey!

In the third match Inblueteeners took on another new team captained by Trystan Colley.  The youngsters got off to a terrific start beating Trystan's team by 9 goals to 1, the scoreline not reflecting the competitive nature of the game.  Both teams played well and it was Trystan's team who scored first through Natalie Hodge.  After this early wake up call Inblueteeners piled on the pressure with some slick passing moves. It was not long before Louis Sangan popped up on the right hand post to cleverly convert after a good cross from Rob Cuming down the left. After levelling the score the Inblueteeners settled and further goals came from Jenna Volpert, Lucy Le Lievre and Dan Scriven to give them a 4-1 lead at half time.  In the second half the game took on a similar pattern although Trystan's team stuck to their task with Luke Maguire providing a constant threat throughout the game. However, Inblueteeners scored again with Le Lievre completing a hat trick. Other goals came from the speedy Freddy Phipps, another from Dan Scriven and a classy goal from Rob Cuming. The game was a great advert for mixed hockey and both teams got off to a really good start to the summer season.
